Cars & Stories
The car catches your eye. The story makes you stay.
A collector’s classic and a car passed down through a family share something important: someone chose to keep that story on the road. Here, we start with the machine and stay for the people.
Rare cars and everyday favourites together
Coverage of the 2026 edition quoted event creator Francisco Chermont naming GT40, 1968 Mustang, Volkswagen Beetle, Opala and Chevette among the cars on display. The variety connects rare machines to cars visitors recognise from their own streets.
An archive becomes meaningful when a car is more than a model name. How did it get here? What was preserved? Who keeps it running? The bodywork draws attention; its journey gives it context.

Start with the design: silhouette, proportions and interior details. Headlights, instruments, seats and finishes form a whole. One small detail can change how you see the entire car.
Look for traces of time: an old component, a family photograph or a decades-old modification can start a conversation. Ask before drawing conclusions; new appearance, use and preservation tell different stories.
Meet the person: why this car? Which journey mattered most? Which part was hardest to find? These questions add something a power figure cannot convey.
There is room for memory in the garage
Not every story starts with a rare example. A first car, the daily commute, a journey or a vehicle passed from one generation to the next also deserves a place. Photographs, documents and personal accounts connect a car to a time and place.
Separate personal recollection from documented facts. A lived experience has its own value; a vehicle’s year, version, components and modifications need their own supporting references.

From a car to a community
The gathering continues after the bonnet closes. Conversation leads to clubs, parts, restorers and new stories. This is the connection between Cars & Stories and Projects & Garage: someone takes care of every machine you admire.
Models mentioned in the coverage are references from the event. The illustrated Maverick in the homepage artwork is not yet a verified individual vehicle profile or an advertisement.
